The Semen Hub has been a labor of love to make it easier and faster for buyers to study and purchase semen for their breeding programs. In 2017, the first version of e-commerce for the Semen Hub was launched. Within a year it was upgraded to version 2. After only 9 months it was upgraded again to version 3. Clearly the capacity and volume of semen being sold was far greater than we had anticipated. For that reason the Semen Hub had to take a step back. Our goal is to provide fast and reliable customer service and keep ordering and shipping simple. With the complexity of this business, that was starting to become nearly impossible to maintain. For that reason, we decided to take a step back. Going back to the drawing board we have developed a plan that is so much bigger and better than just a semen selling platform that it has been in production for a couple of years now. Once completed it will change the way semen is bought and sold in every livestock industry. As things enter the final stages in 2020, we will begin to roll out questions regarding the new platform to gain input from buyers and sellers. If it seems like we have been a little quiet, it is on purpose. Selling semen is a difficult business in any industry, and with the addition of hundreds of sires nationwide each year from every breed this is only going to get more competitive. We are going to level the playing field and help you find the very best sire for your program. Then we will make the buying and selling of semen even easier so that you can manage and view your inventory in real time.
